Irreverent and wry, Alex's background in improv has served him well as a director. In 2016 his first feature, Hickey, won best director honors at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival and went on to competition at SXSW. It was bought and released worldwide by Gravitas in 2017. HIs short mockumentary, "The Woman Who Can't Watch Movies," tells the mostly true story of Sheb Wooley's famous scream and won multiple Lions at Cannes. His two short films, Eulogilia and Hollywood Breakup are currently touring film festivals around the country.
