Before directing, Alex honed his comedy chops with the Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade, and worked as a copywriter at famed agencies like Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Butler, Shine & Stern, and Crispin Porter Bogusky.
His directing career began in 2011, when Shoot Magazine named him one of the top 25 new directors in the world. He's since directed hundreds of spots, garnering multiple Lions at Cannes, including the title of most-awarded comedy director at Cannes in 2017.
He once impersonated Sarah Palin on Facebook and shared salmon recipes with thousands of followers until the Wall St. Journal outed him. That was a sad day.
